Seasonal changes and adjustments to your marketing campaign.

Many people awoke this morning, frustrated at the sight of the white blankets covering their driveways and roads. With so many people busy this morning having to shovel their driveways and deal with the nuance that the winter season brings, the few that actually did pay attention knew better than to be unprepared. Those that knew the upcoming storm was ahead prepped by putting salt in their driveways and made adjustments to mitigate any damage.

Unfortunately as can be expected with bad weather some came across damages and the ones stuck at home, snowed in browsing their social media of course came across something peculiar. It was as if their minds were being read and they saw ads and marketing campaigns related to their broken heating that had JUST occurred. It was a small little ad but the timing was right, and before you knew it, they had their local HVAC contractor at their home fixing the broken heating.

Now of course you can chalk up the story to just lucky timing, but if you had monitored the weather and knew ahead of time the impact it would bring, you would release ads across social media and direct your marketing efforts temporarily to bring in those customers in need.

If you are a business owner you should always be prepared for changes and strategize when you can. We can always count on the season to change and bring with it hectic weather. If your business deals with the public in any capacity, you should be optimizing for the weather by increasing your marketing campaign to strategically be one step ahead of the competition by directly targeting the necessity of your services in their time of need.

Take into account the first story with HVAC, you are an HVAC contractor and you fix broken heating. How could you directly target the root of the problem they need than by strategically placing an ad ahead of time to let them know you are prepared to fix their heating precisely as the snow makes its debut? You strategize for the weather!

As a business owner you should be monitoring the weather forecast and all that affects your business and its clients. If the weather forecast shows bad weather you can expect damages ranging from, but not limited to broken heating, frozen pipes, snow plowing, roofing problems, trees falling and so on and so forth. If a potential client of yours came across an ad that directly affected their problem, they are more likely to connect with you as they feel you are directly speaking to them.

If your ad and marketing campaign is engaging, relevant, and solves their problem, you can then expect an imprint in the minds of your potential clients. The more engaging and relevant the more it will leave an impression and potentially lead to an increase in your services being needed in the future.

This is important, as if you DO release an ad pertaining to the weather and how you can solve the problem of your clients, it shows that you listen and are one step ahead and when they come across a problem in the future and need services, they will be more likely to contact the company they are familiar with who came across their social media than a company that left no impression in their mind at all.

This is why it is important to always be prepared and adjust, whether you are a business or not, but especially if you are business you could be losing out on clients without realizing it. The few that do prepare will realize greater profits in the long run, while the companies that don’t optimize and strategize will fall behind and fail to leave any impression in the minds of their clients and can be dismissed and not considered when a client actually does need their services.
